Getting around
Driving licence, road conditions, public transport and domestic flights.
Public transport
France, Belgium and Canada advise against minibus taxis; France also advises avoiding the area around bus stations, railway stations and minibus taxi ranks after 5 pm.

Driving licence
A national licence is accepted, but get an international driving permit before departure (not available locally): without it, insurance is hard to obtain. To cross a border in a rental car, a permit from the Cross-Border Road Transport Agency is required.

Driving locally
Fatal accidents are common, often involving pedestrians, especially in wet weather. GPS suggests the most direct route, not necessarily the safest.
