Public transport
Belgium and Canada advise against minibuses (daladala), three-wheelers (bajaji) and motorbike taxis (boda-boda): unsafe and often poorly maintained. Belgium advises against three-wheelers after dark, especially for women travelling alone.

Other transport
Between Dar es Salaam and Stone Town, only the recent catamarans of the scheduled companies (AZAM, ZAN-FAST) are reasonably safe; other sea and lake services are unreliable. Tanzanian airlines are on the EU air safety blacklist: check before a domestic flight.
