Currency and cash

  • The currency is the Sudanese pound (SDG), which is non-convertible and cannot be exported; the US dollar is widely accepted. Foreign cards do not work and ATMs only serve local accounts; sanctions make transfers difficult. Bring enough cash in dollars for the whole stay, including flights and hotels.
