Currency and cash
The currency is the Rwandan franc (RWF). Electronic payment is growing, and Visa and Mastercard are accepted in many Kigali shops, but carry cash elsewhere. Some ATMs refuse foreign cards: you can withdraw at the bank counter with your passport.
