Driving licence
Traffic drives on the left. A foreign licence is valid for four weeks. Zero tolerance for drink-driving. After an accident, stay at the scene and call the police (230-208-1212).

Other transport
Public transport is reliable: light rail between Port Louis and Curepipe, buses and taxis. Most taxis have no meter: use registered taxis and agree the fare beforehand.
