Practical guides: Libya
Getting around
Driving licence, road conditions, public transport and domestic flights.
Driving locally
Avoid overland travel in the south-east (landmines, kidnapping, banditry, terrorism); the coastal road between Zawiyah and Tripoli is dangerous because of fighting between factions. After a serious accident, authorities may detain the drivers until the dispute is settled.
