Visa, passport, vaccination required at the border, customs and consular assistance. Rules depend on your nationality: each point says who it applies to.
Visa
A visa is compulsory. Apply at the relevant Liberian embassy or, if Liberia has no embassy in your country of residence, online on the Liberia Immigration Service website only (beware of fraudulent sites). Extension up to 60 days locally (25 dollars, immigration office in Sinkor, Monrovia).

A visa is required for all Spanish passports and is not issued at the airport: apply at the Honorary Consulate of Liberia in Madrid (EUR 100 to 200) or the Embassy of Liberia in Paris. Yellow fever vaccination is compulsory.

Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, TogoCitizens of ECOWAS states enter without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, through an official border post, with a valid travel document and an international vaccination certificate; beyond that, an extension must be requested from the authorities. Since Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger withdrew (29 January 2025), ECOWAS has maintained this right for their citizens until further notice. Each state keeps the right to refuse entry to anyone inadmissible under its law.

Vaccination required at entry
Yellow fever vaccination is compulsory (certificate required with the visa application). Enhanced Ebola-related health screening applies on arrival.
Customs and currency
Up to 10,000 dollars may be imported without declaration. Trading rough diamonds requires special authorisation; pornographic material is prohibited.
