A visa is required and must be obtained before departure from an Algerian consulate. A visa on arrival exists for organised tours in the deep south booked with an approved agency.

Customs and currency
Declare foreign currency of 1,000 euros or more on entry and exit according to France (5,000 euros according to the UK); keep the form and exchange receipts to take unused currency out. Only residents may bring dinars in or out, up to 10,000 DZD.
