Driving locally
Streets are often narrow, poorly maintained and badly lit; roaming livestock and excessive speed. Police may set up wire roadblocks that are hard to see at night: do not drive after dark. After an accident, stay in the car until the police arrive. Fuel stations are far apart (Djibouti, Ali Sabieh, Dikhil, Obock, Tadjourah): carry enough fuel.

Other transport
Intercity public transport is limited to buses and ferries between Djibouti, Obock and Tadjourah; buses are poorly maintained and driven erratically.
