Visa, passport, vaccination required at the border, customs and consular assistance. Rules depend on your nationality: each point says who it applies to.
Visa
A biometric visa is compulsory. Apply at an Ivorian consulate or online (e-visa on the official Snedai website): after registration and payment, the visa is issued on arrival at Abidjan airport. Apply at least 10 working days before departure. The visa is valid for 1 to 3 months.

Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone, TogoCitizens of ECOWAS states enter without a visa for stays of up to 90 days, through an official border post, with a valid travel document and an international vaccination certificate; beyond that, an extension must be requested from the authorities. Since Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger withdrew (29 January 2025), ECOWAS has maintained this right for their citizens until further notice. Each state keeps the right to refuse entry to anyone inadmissible under its law.

Your passport must be valid for more than 6 months (after arrival according to France and the UK, after exit according to Canada).

Yellow fever vaccination is compulsory; the certificate is checked systematically on arrival.
Travellers arriving from Ebola-affected countries (including the DRC and Uganda) are screened and may be monitored for up to 21 days.

Customs and currency
Declare in writing any currency above one million CFA francs (about 1,500 euros). The UK states a limit of 500,000 CFA francs in cash on entry.
