Visa, passport, vaccination required at the border, customs and consular assistance. Rules depend on your nationality: each point says who it applies to.
Visa
A passport and visa are compulsory. Apply for the visa before departure, in particular at the Central African embassy in Paris (30, rue des Perchamps); requirements can change without notice.

A visa is required and must be obtained before departure: it is no longer issued on arrival. Passport with one blank page and proof of yellow fever vaccination.

Citizens of the six CEMAC countries (Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Chad) move without a visa within the zone, according to the CEMAC Commission (September 2025). The Commission still reports administrative hassles at borders: keep your identity and travel documents with you.

Passport and documents
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after your planned departure from the Central African Republic (the UK counts 6 months after arrival).
Keep your passport and tickets in a safe and carry photocopies; at a checkpoint, stay calm and show only the copies.
