Visa, passport, vaccination required at the border, customs and consular assistance. Rules depend on your nationality: each point says who it applies to.
Visa
A visa is compulsory. Apply before departure through the DRC embassy in your country of residence (or online for some nationalities); it is not issued on arrival. Processing can be slow: allow at least 2 to 3 weeks.

French nationals can obtain a tourist visa for under 6 months, online or at the DRC embassy in Paris. Beyond 6 months, a residence permit is needed, applied for locally at the Directorate General of Migration or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Vaccination required at entry
Yellow fever vaccination is compulsory: certificates are checked on every flight and a traveller without one is sent back. The UK notes that a polio vaccination certificate may also be required.

Customs and currency
Every flight is taxed: a 50 USD "Go Pass" and a 5 USD statistics tax for international flights, 10 USD and 5 USD for domestic flights. Keep the receipts: they are checked on departure.

The main entry points are Kinshasa-N'Djili airport, Lubumbashi airport and Kinshasa river port (Beach Ngobila), opposite Brazzaville.
