Driving licence

A French licence is accepted for stays under 4 months; beyond that it must be exchanged at the Directorate General of Land and Maritime Transport, with an authenticated driving record.

Driving locally
After an accident, do not move the vehicle, stay until the police arrive and call 17 (accident unit in Ouagadougou: +226 25 30 63 82) and your consulate. Never ride in the back of a pick-up.
